Sam Scroggins, Sr.

<p>Sam Lewis Scroggins Sr., age 57, of Broken Bow passed away on January 11, 2021 at his home.&nbsp; He was born October 6, 1963 to Sherrill Bennett Scroggins and Melrose Virginia Woods Scroggins. Sam lived in McCurtain County all of his life.</p> <p>Sam was affiliated with the Assembly of God Church in Wright City.&nbsp; He was mechanic and an entrepreneur of all things.&nbsp; Sam enjoyed fishing, hunting and being outdoors, but most of all, he enjoyed taking care of his grandbabies.</p> <p>Sam was preceded in death by his dad, Sherrill Bennett Scroggins; his wife, Elizabeth Scroggins; and a son, Deirk Scroggins.</p> <p>Sam leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Melrose, of Broken Bow, OK; sons, Sam Scroggins (wife, Angela), of Broken Bow, OK, Brandon Merino, of Houston, TX, and C.J. Torres, of Oklahoma City, OK; daughters, Kayla Gipson (husband, Steven) of Durant, OK, Devin Torres, of Oklahoma City, OK, and Caitlyn Torres, of Grant, OK; brothers, Sherrill Bennett Jr., of Hochatown, OK and Daniel Scroggins, of Georgia; sisters, Chirlyn Scroggins, of Colorado, Brenda Scroggins, of Paris, TX, Rose Scroggins, of Durant, OK, and Betty Hamm (husband, Dwight), of Idabel, OK; grandchildren, Sammy, Noah, Tay, Rio, Dayson, Jakiyas, Kenneth, and others; special friends, Rick Packard, Stanley Bounds, and Kendra Jones, all of Broken Bow, OK.</p> <p>In lieu of flowers, the family has respectfully asked that donations toward funeral expenses be made at Brumley Funeral Home, 500 N. Park Dr., Broken Bow, OK 74728.</p> <p>A graveside service is scheduled for Friday, January 15, 2021 at 2:00PM at the Wheelock Cemetery, Millerton, OK.</p>
