Robert R. Nadeau

Robert R. Nadeau, 71, of Union Ave., Westport, husband of Carol A. (Okseniak) Nadeau, and son of the late Wilfred and Marie Claire (Vanasse) Nadeau, died Thursday, September 1, 2011. Besides his wife of 48 years, he leaves four daughters, Karen Concepcion (husband Miguel) of Fall River, Beth Ballard (husband Daniel) of Connecticut, Donna Wisely (husband Michael) of Pennsylvania, and Julie Nadeau-Amaral (husband Cesar) of Westport; grandchildren, Adam, Matthew, Mikey, Ashley, Kendyl, Christina, Holly, Brittany, Cameron, Timothy, Sarah, Jake, Nicholas and Alana; great-grandchildren, Emily, Benjamin, Chloe, and Brayden; a brother, Donald E. Nadeau (wife Pauline) of Westport; and nieces and nephews. He was a 1958 Msgr. Prevost High School Graduate and Marine Corps veteran of the Korea-Vietnam War. He operated and served as President, with his brother, the family rigging, trucking and crane service business, Joseph Nadeau’s Sons, Inc., Fall River. He was Judge Advocate for the Marine Corps League, L/Cpl John J. VanGyzen Detachment # 1285, Somerset and a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 4, Boston. His funeral will be held Friday, September 9 at 9:45 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in St. George Church, Westport, at 11:00 AM. Burial, Notre Dame Cemetery. Visitation, Thursday 4:00 to 8:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home. Donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Marine Corps League L/Cpl John J. VanGyzen Detachment #1285, 265 High St., Somerset MA 02726, or SouthCoast Hospice, 200 Mill Rd. Suite 120, Fairhaven MA 02719.
