Norma Jean Meadows, 88, of Maysville, passed away Monday June 13, 2016 at Maysville Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility. She was the widow of Harry L. Meadows who died July 6, 1983. Mrs. Meadows was born in Maysville May 17, 1928. She was a homemaker and was employed by U.S. Shoe in Vanceburg for several years. Norma loved the Lord and going to church to worship Him, and she also loved her children and grandchildren. Survivors include 2 sons, Harry (Joyce) Meadows of Foxport and Gary Wayne (Ruth) Meadows of Wallingford; a daughter, Brenda Carpenter of Maysville; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth Botkins Dunaway Madden, her son-in-law Melvin Carpenter and several brothers and sisters. Funeral services for Norma Meadows will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 17, 2016 at Brell & Son Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in the Hillcrest Garden of Memories. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to CASA or one's favorite charity.
