George Edward Hosiner Obituary

George E. Hosiner, 75, of Springfield, Missouri, passed from this life unexpectedly Friday, December 13, 2019, at Mercy Hospital. He was born Friday, November 24, 1944, in Seymour, Missouri, to K. Fred and Doris V. (Davis) Hosiner. George graduated from Seymour High School and served in the United States Army receiving the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, two Overseas Service Bars, and Expert Marksmanship Badges with M-14 and M-16. George retired from Packers Distributing Company in Springfield. He was a Mason, a member of the Hazelwood Lodge #459 Seymour, Scottish Rite, and Shriners. George enjoyed woodworking in his spare time and especially spending time with his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, LeNora (Roe) Hosiner; two sons, Jimmy Roe of Everton, and Matt Hosiner of Springfield; a grandson, Charlie Selley; and a great-granddaughter, Bayli Selley. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 18, 2019, at Walnut Lawn Funeral Home, 2001 W. Walnut Lawn St. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m., in the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be at 2:00 p.m., in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, 5201 S. Southwood Rd., Springfield, Missouri. His care has been entrusted to Walnut Lawn Funeral Home, Ltd. DeGraffenreid-Wood Crematory.
