Mary Ida Owens, 88 of Broad Run Virginia, passed away on Friday December 13, 2019 at the Arbor Terrace Sudley Manor. Mary was a member of the Broad Run Baptist Church and worked for Prince William County as an operator until 1999. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years; Stanley L. Owens; two brothers, Moses and Charles Burke; two sisters, Violet Baldwin and Helen Smoot and two sons-in-law, Bill Dameron and John McGhee. Mary is survived by her three daughters; Kathy Dameron of Manassas, Sherry McGhee of Harrisonburg, VA and Beverly Lewis and husband Kenny of Amherst, VA. Additional survivors include four brothers: Paul Burke of Sperryville, Davis Burke and Rannie Burke both of Manassas and William Burke of Centreville; three sisters, Janet Alther of Sperryville, Cecil Baldwin of Luray and Doris Payne of Culpeper; four grandchildren, Justin and Stephanie Dameron of Fredericksburg, Ashley and Sean Pressman of Salem, Va., Jessica and Chris Shields of Boyce, Va. and Travis and Tori Lewis of Amherst, Va.; five great-grandchildren, Elon, Evie, Jade, Elka and Iris. A funeral service will be held at Moser Funeral Home (233 Broadview Ave., Warrenton, VA) on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Catlett Methodist Cemetery.
