Anna Pearl Aumick Obituary

Anna Pearl Aumick, 73 of Walton, passed away Thursday, December 12, 2019, in St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis, after being diagnosed with leukemia on Sunday. Born August 2, 1946, in Allen County, Kansas, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Loeva (Baker) Beaty. She met Richard Earl Aumick, from New Jersey, while he was serving in the U.S. Air Force in Kansas. They figured with rhyming middle names, they were destined to be together. The couple married November 29, 1964 in Iola, Kansas. He was transferred to Grissom Air Force Base and they made their home in the country near Onward where they raised their family. Anna was a longtime member of the McNeely Memorial Church near Lewisburg. For several years she volunteered with Project Hope in Galveston, making quilts which were distributed all over the globe. Anna was an excellent seamstress and loved making quilts and blankets. Over the years, hundreds of babies and children - or anyone she thought needed the gift of warmth - were recipients of her handiwork which was stitched with love. She also loved baking and cooking. Her beautiful flower garden was another passion. Anna also enjoyed her many collections: Tony Stewart #20, Smurfs, Cookie Jars in every size and shape, cardinals, and because her Daddy was a school bus driver - she loved finding matchbox sized buses. Surviving are her husband of 55 years, Richard; two daughters, Shawna (Tommy "Charley") Werst, of Greentown, and, Tracy (James) Shaver, of Wisconsin; grandchildren: Thomas Werst II, Kokomo, Rebekah (Jay) Clifton, Greentown, and Isaac Werst, Greentown; great-grandchild, Jason Clifton; and siblings, Larry Beaty, New Mexico, Dale Beaty, Texas, and Nancy Russell, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her son, Tony Aumick, her granddaughter, Brianna Werst, and siblings, Dave Beaty and Carlene Purser. A Funeral Service celebrating Anna's life will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17 in Fisher Funeral Chapel with Pastor Don McDowell officiating. Interment will follow in the McNeely Memorial Church Cemetery. Friends will be received from noon Tuesday until the time of the service in the funeral chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice or to the McNeely Memorial Church.
