Betty J. Rausch ASHTABULA- Betty Jayne Rausch, 84, passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2019 while a patient at Ashtabula County Medical Center. The daughter of Herman and Hazel (Myers) Mahaffey, Betty was born on August 22, 1935 in Uhrichsville, Ohio. She was a graduate of Uhrichsville High School. On March 18, 1955 Betty and Jerry Rausch were united in marriage and shared sixty-four years of love and created many cherished memories along the way. Betty loved children and was a bus driver for twenty-five years for the Buckeye Local Schools. Her devotion to the children who rode her bus was unmatched. She attended their sporting events and other activities. An avid swimmer, she spent many hours at Walnut Beach and Kings Lake with her children. She was a Girl Scout Troop leader for many years. Early in their marriage, she and Jerry were frequent visitors to the Ashtabula County Children’s Home and enjoyed sharing their love with those who lived there. Betty enjoyed shopping with her daughters and could often be found at the Ashtabula Towne Square for a day of shopping. Betty enjoyed being a mom, it was her calling. She loved being a grandma and great –grandma; as well, and showered her grandbabies with love. Betty was a devoted wife, mom and grandma; she encouraged and supported her family and was proud of their many accomplishments. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Rausch; children, Shelley Lipps, Linda and Bradley Corlew, and John Rausch; her daughter- in-law, Michele Rausch; grandchildren, Ryan and Amanda Corlew, Caleb and Amanda Corlew, Andy and Tessa Lipps, Matthew Corlew, Precious Corlew, Cherish and Alex Reed, Jarod Rausch, and Emily Lipps; great-grandchildren, Kiernan Corlew, Kinley Lipps, Judah Corlew, Elia Corlew, Koyer Lipps, and Aurora Reed. Betty was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at the Zaback-Williams-Ducro Funeral Home, 500 West Prospect Road, Ashtabula, Ohio. Rev. John Gehring-Anders, Pastor of Eastside Presbyterian Church will officiate. Burial in Edgewood Cemetery, Ashtabula, Ohio. A calling hour will be observed from 12Noon until time of service at 1PM on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at the Zaback-Williams-Ducro Funeral Home, 500 west Prospect Road, Ashtabula, Ohio.
