Christian Michael Joseph Whitaker

Christian Whitaker, 35, of Irene, South Dakota passed away on Monday, December 9, 2019 in Irene. Christian was born in Vermillion, South Dakota on August 15, 1984 to Robbie Butler and LaJean Whitaker. He married Nicole Schmit on December 7, 2012, and to this union brought four children to join his other two older children. Christian loved his children, his family, and he loved to go fishing and be outdoors. He is survived by his wife, Nicole Schmit of Irene, South Dakota; his six children, Gage and Trinity Whitaker of The Colony, Texas, and Mika, Jacobi, Dominick, and Amara Whitaker of Irene, South Dakota; his mother, LaJean Whitaker of The Colony, Texas; his father, Robbie (Connie) Butler of Quasqueton, Iowa; a brother, Zachary (John) Bauman of The Colony, Texas; step-brother, David Butler of Kokomo, Indiana; his aunts, Violet (Ken) Zoss of Vermillion, South Dakota, Jeanette (Joe) Bare of Trinity, North Carolina, Brenda (Tim) Sherman of Tyndall, South Dakota, Kim Vitek of Yankton, South Dakota, and Michelle (Jerry) Arneson of Aberdeen, South Dakota; paternal grandparents, David (Linda) Butler of Mitchell, South Dakota. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents; a brother, David.
