Robert Thomas Berkheimer, 82, passed away December 11, 2019 in Oberlin, KS. He was born February 18, 1937 in Miller, Nebraska to Lee Cloyce (Jim) and Jennie Elnore Boyd Berkheimer. Bob graduated from Miller High School and then attended Kearney State Teachers College. He married Yukiko Segawa November 18, 1959 in Naha, Okinawa, Japan. Bob was a United States Army veteran and former general manager of the KOMC (more recently KSNK) television station in Oberlin. He also worked in sales for Newton Products and was a longtime school bus driver for the Oberlin Schools. Bob was active in the community as a member of the Golden Age Senior Center Board, Sappa Manor Housing Board and the USD #294 School Board. He also helped with his wife’s daycare center, becoming another grandpa for many Oberlin children. Bob was a faithful member of McCook Christian Church. He was an avid Nebraska fan, following both Husker football and basketball. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Kenneth and sister, Donna. He is survived by his wife, Yuki; two sons, Tom (Melissa) of Johnston, IA and Jim (Heather) of Rapid City, SD; one daughter, Patricia (Lance) Dixon of Kingman, KS; grandchildren: Tyler, Ben (Elizabeth), Anna, Emily, Leah, Alyse, Cate and Grace, Mia and Chris and one great granddaughter, Emersyn. Memorial services will be 11:00 am Friday, December 13, 2019 at Pauls Funeral Home, Oberlin. Family visitation will precede the funeral from 9:00-11:00 am. Memorials may be made to the McCook Christian Church and the Golden Age Center, both in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be left at www.paulsfh.com
