Melnora Bryan Altshuler, 86, of Hopkinsville, KY died at 12:10 p.m. Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at Bradford Heights Health & Rehab. A Memorial Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, December 13, 2019 at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church with the Reverend Father Richard Meredith officiating. Burial will follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West. A rosary will be said at 9:00 a.m. Friday at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. A native of Benton, KY she was born February 28, 1933 the daughter of the late William Prewitt Bryan and Ollie Lou Ham Bryan. She was a homemaker and also worked at the Kwik Pic, Michael’s Photo Lab, and K-Mart. She was a member of Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church where is was active in the Rosary Makers. She was preceded in death by her husband: Harry James Altshuler; her daughters: Jeanna Lynne Altshuler and Lora Jean Altshuler; her sister: Francine Bryan Johnson; and her brothers: William P. Bryan and Billy Joe Bryan. Survivors include her daughters: Cindy (the late George) McCouch of Hopkinsville and Kathryn (Charles) Rozelle of Clarksville, TN; 8 grandchildren: William McCouch, Kathryn Bailey, Michael McCouch, Michelle McCouch, Laura McCouch, Amanda Giarrantano, Phoebe Rozelle, and Stephanie Rozelle; and 13 great grandchildren. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association or Pennyroyal Hospice.
