Scott- A Gathering of Remembrance with the family and friends of John Allen Guidry, 61, will be held in the Duhon Funeral Home-Rayne Chapel on Thursday, December 12, 2019 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be at a later date. Mr. Guidry was a native of Lafayette, LA; graduated from Acadiana High school with the class of 1976 and USL in 1980 and was employed by Winn Dixie for 35 years prior to his retirement. His hobbies included traveling, having visited 48 states; enjoyed visiting his friends at the “Coffee Depot” in Scott, LA; was an avid fan of the UL Ragin Cajuns for over 40 years; also enjoyed history, genealogy and was recently elected President of Acadiana Sportsman League. He is survived by his siblings, Warren Guidry and his wife, Glenda of Franklin, LA, Betty Wyble and her husband, Milton of Church Point, LA, Timmy Guidry and his wife, Megan of Lafayette, LA and Brian Guidry and his wife, Tracy of Scott, LA; brother-in-law, Billy Matte; nieces, nephews and their children, Donny Seaux and his wife, Karla and children, Josh and Emily Seaux, Melissa Guidry, Donna Lowe and husband, Beau and children, Kalem and Kameron Lowe, Nathan Thibodeaux and his wife, Daniellle, Tracy Comeaux and her husband, Keith and children, Andre’ and Ava Comeaux, Blake Guidry, Sherri Arthur and husband, Michael and children, McKenzie, Rhys and Emma Arthur and Jake Guidry. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Mervin Guidry and Rena Doga Guidry; one sister, Margie Seaux Matte; paternal, grandparents, Venia and Etha Guidry; maternal grandparents, Louis and Elta Doga; niece, Laurie Beth Guidry and one great-niece, Enjoli Rose Arthur.
