Amos E. Payne, age 65 of Bourbon, Missouri passed away Sunday, December 8, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family. Amos Eugene was born on May 4, 1954 in Bourbon, Missouri to the late Gene and Ruby (Medley) Payne. Amos was raised and attended school in Salem. He was employed by Townsend Tree Service as a young man. Amos started his own car detailing business called D & A Detailing and ran it until the present time, 30 plus years. He was united in marriage to Deborah Ann Aubuchon on July 2, 1977 and they were blessed with three children, Amy, Mark and Megan. Amos was a family man and dearly loved his granddaughters. He always looked forward to family trips to Branson. Amos was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed caring for his yard which he kept immaculate. He was also a “car man” and enjoyed restoring old cars, attending car shows and swap meets. He and Debbie attended New Testament Baptist Church in Sullivan, MO. Amos is survived by his wife Debbie (Aubuchon) Payne of Bourbon, MO; two daughters, Amy Phillips and husband Robert of Wright City, MO and Megan McCammon and husband Glenn of Cuba, MO; two grandchildren, Eva Phillips and Payton Rhoades; two step grandchildren, Toby and Aubrie McCammon; one brother, Andy Payne and wife Vicki of Rolla, MO; two sisters, Linda Ives and husband Terry of Raymore, MO and Kay McPherson and husband Jim of Winfield, KS; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Amos was preceded in death by his son, Mark Allen Payne; his parents, Gene and Ruby (Medley) Payne; and his mother and father in law, Herbert and Marilyn Aubuchon. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Thursday, December 12, 2019 at New Testament Baptist Church in Sullivan with Pastor Josh Wright officiating. Burial will follow at Crow Cemetery. Visitation for Amos Payne will be from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, Wednesday at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, MO. Memorials to the Payne family in Amos’s memory are appreciated.
