Church Hill – Wanda Nell Herron Linkous, 66 of Church Hill, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at her residence following an extended illness. Born in Kingsport, she had lived her entire life in Church Hill. She was a loving wife, mother and “nene”. She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Ruby Nell Duncan Herron; her sister, Karen Arnold. Wanda is survived by her husband of 46 years, James “J.J.” Linkous; daughter, Heather Fields and husband Joshua; grandsons, Seth, Laiken, Skyler and Donovan Fields; brother, Keith Herron and wife Shelia; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Monday, December 9, 2019 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home. Family and friends may also call anytime at the residence. A funeral service will follow at 7 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Roger Dinsmore officiating. Eulogy will be given by Phillip Free. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 am Tuesday at Church Hill Memory Gardens. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:45 am. Pallbearers will be Terry Herron, Levi Herron, Caleb Herron, Jeremy Arnold, Gary Johnson and Jason Murrell. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Church Hill is serving the Linkous family.
