Roger Crowell Stayton, Oregon Obituary

Roger Crowell

Roger Thomas Crowell was born on July 23, 1966 in Livermore, California to Melvin Crowell and Hollie Houston. Roger attended high school and eventually went to culinary school. After living in California, Roger made the move thirty five years ago to Mill City, Oregon where he would work as a cook. Eventually, he would leave the restaurant industry and work for Camp Cascade for 13 years followed by US Logistics the last 5 years. Besides work, Roger was blessed to become a father and was even more overjoyed when he became a grandfather. Family was the joy of his life and Roger enjoyed anytime with family he could get. Roger would meet Sherri (Gust) Cardwell and they would marry on October 4, 2007 in Lyons, Oregon. Sherri and Roger were soulmates and found that they had so much in common even upon their first initial meeting. For the last 12 years they enjoyed life in the Canyon, community activities and of course just being together. Roger was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the International Order of Oddfellows. Besides enjoying fellowship with these organizations, Roger loved hunting, fishing, the beach and mountains. You could say that some of his best days were spent enjoying this beautiful country. On December 2, 2019, Roger passed away at his home in Mill City at age 53. He was preceded in death by his father, Mel Crowell and sister, Karen Cronick. He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Sherri Cardwell; mother, Hollie Houston; children, Tyler (Tabitha) Crowell, Logan (Courtney) Moser, Adam Crowell, Alyssa Gust and Kailey Cardwell; grandchildren, Josh Crowell, Jakob Crowell, Hunter Crowell, Caroline Wagner, Tegan Moser and Zachariah Crowell; siblings, Nancy Rowe, Diane Hay, Jayson Crowell; brother in law, Ken Cronick in addition to many extended family members and friends.
