Carla Jill Quinn Obituary

ROCKLAND – Carla ‘Jill’ Quinn, 67, died unexpectedly, following a period of declining health, Friday, November 15, 2019 at Maine Medical Center in Portland.

Born August 31, 1952, in Columbus, Ohio, she was the daughter of William and Mary Nezvarba Hunt. Jill grew up in Chelmsford, Massachusetts, and graduated from high school there in 1970. Following high school she attended the University of Massachusetts, Amherst where she met her future husband, Paul Quinn. Each saying to their friends, “I’m going to marry that person” it was love at first sight, and the pair were married in 1972 in Chelmsford, Massachusetts.

Paul and Jill relocated several times throughout their lives together, following Paul’s career in the restaurant industry. Together they made homes in Nashville, TN, Gulfport, Mississippi, New Orleans, and Arkadelphia, AK before settling in Owls Head, Maine in 1987. Together they cared for Paul’s father there and most recently moved to Rockland just three years ago.

Throughout her own career, Jill was employed first with Zayre Department Store, and later for over 10 years as a teller at Camden National Bank in Rockland. She was an outgoing, friendly person who loved meeting the public on a daily basis.
An avid reader Jill loved visiting the local library wherever she lived. She had a special place in her heart for animals, especially her cat ‘Emma’ who was her pride and joy.

She will be sadly missed by all who loved her.

Jill is survived by her beloved husband of 47 years Paul Quinn of Rockland; her sister Kaaren Hunt Lyle of Riegelsville, PA; her nieces Andrea Fairchild of Hartford, CT, Diane Valentine of New York; her nephews, Greg Sadosky and his family of Spring, TX, David Sadosky and his family of Dallas, TX, Matthew Goss of Delaware, Stephen Goss and his wife Gaby of Ohio; and her twin great-nephews of Hartford, CT.

In keeping with Mrs. Quinn’s wishes, her family has chosen to remember her life privately.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Pope Memorial Humane Society, P.O. Box 1294, Rockland, ME 04841.

Arrangements are in the care of Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock Street, Rockland.
