Catherine Friedrich

Catherine S. Friedrich, age 77, born on January 20, 1942, passed away on November 23, 2019. Catherine was born the daughter of Joseph and Mildred (Garber) Auito. She leaves behind her loving son Franklin (Darlene) Smith and grandchildren Jason (Autumn) Smith, Brandi Smith, Anthony Smith, Christina (Rick) Fischer, Michelle Fritz, and Rebecca Mattis. Loving great grandmother of Maxwell, Abby, Cheyanne, Brooklyn, Andrew, Damien, and Skylar. Sister to Gladys Alford, Mildred Rippe, Janet (Kenneth) Rosinski, James (Deborah) Auito, Anna (Mike) Hansen, and Mike (Kim) Auito. Proud aunt of many nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her son Jeffery Smith, daughter-in-law Mary, granddaughter Angelina, brothers Joseph, Victor and Cyrus, and ex-husbands Horst Friedrich and Jackie Smith. Visitation will be at Verheyden Funeral Home 21705 Gratiot Avenue, Eastpointe, MI 48021. From 2 pm until time of service at 6 pm on Friday, December 6, 2019. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
