Daryl Keith Cantrell

Daryl Keith Cantrell, 65, of Springfield, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2015 in his home. Keith was born on October 22, 1949 in Shelby, OH, the son of Wayne and Joyce (McKenzie) Cantrell. He graduated from Triad High School in 1969 and proudly served his country in the Army. Keith retired from The Scotts Company in 2011 after 34 years of service. He loved working on cars and enjoyed working on his little farm, where he raised cows. Keith loved his family and was a loving papa to his 5 grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Debbie (Swigart) Cantrell; sons, Jason of Cable, Justin of Urbana and Jacob of Cable; 5 grandchildren, Austin, Justice, Haven, Madalynn and Jesse Cantrell; 1 stepgrandson, Seth Huffman; sisters, Jean (John) Simpson of Woodstock, Ann (Kenny) Breece of Marysville, Jo (Phil) Schertzer of Marysville, Cheryl (Larry) Schneider of Delaware, Vicky (Jerry) Feucht of Marysville and Terri (Bill) Atherton of Centerburg; brothers-in-law, Russell (Betty) Swigart, Gary (Connie) Swigart and Arthur (Rosa) Swigart; sister-in-law, Cherie Evilsizor; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and good friend, Lenny Krasovic. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Barbie; brother, Dicky Lee; and granddaughter, Taylor. Keith was a man who put up a good fight against cancer and touched many lives. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and anyone who knew him. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, October 15, 2015 in the WALTER & STOWE FUNERAL HOME, Urbana, where a service will be held at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Keiths memory to Community Mercy Hospice, 444 W. Harding Road, Springfield, OH 45504 or to Springfield Regional Cancer Center, 148 W. North St., Springfield, OH 45504. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.walterfunerals.com.
