Elizabeth Shaw Obituary

SHAW, Peggy (nee Ramsey)-- It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Peggy on November 16, 2019 at age 76 years. Peggy was the beloved wife of Doug Shaw. She was a loving mother and will be dearly missed by her children Craig (Yuriko) and Vanessa (Oliver). Peggy’s grandchildren Galen, Alyssa, Noah, Lana and Madeleine were the joy of her life. She was predeceased by her parents Graham and Helen Ramsey, brother David Ramsey, and first husband Terry Johnston. Peggy was a woman of great faith and cherished her family and friends dearly. She loved travelling, her gardens and flowers, and most of all she loved spending time at the family cottage on Crane Lake. Peggy was an active member of the church community at St. George’s Anglican Church and cherished her friends and many activities there. She was infinitely generous, caring and fun-loving. Her sudden departure has left us all feeling shocked, bereft, grateful for the privilege of knowing her, and yearning for one last chance to be with her again. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Private Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at St. George’s Anglican Church 99 Woolwich St., Guelph on Thursday, November 21, 2019 from 10-11 a.m. A memorial service to celebrate Peggy’s life will follow at 11:30 a.m. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Ontario SPCA would be appreciated by the family. Donation cards are available at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin St. N.,Guelph 519-822-4731 or online at www.gilbertmacintyreandson.com
