Sandra Riggs

Sandra “Sandy” Ann Riggs, 58, of Park View, Iowa passed away after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s, at Senior Star Memory Care, Davenport, on Saturday November 16, 2019. Funeral services take place at 1 pm on Thursday, November 21, at the Lemke Funeral Homes – South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Drive). A visitation will occur 2-hours prior from 11 am until the service hour at the Funeral Home. Burial takes place at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements. Sandy was born July 26, 1961 in Story City, Iowa, the daughter of Merlin and Mary (June) Arends. Sandy was united in marriage to Paul Thomas “Tom” Riggs on June 5, 1993 in Bettendorf, Iowa. Sandy worked as a Manager at EMC Insurance Company. In 2009, Sandy was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, however the disease would never take away her smiling face or the love she had in her heart for everyone she met. Sandy enjoyed traveling, boating and loved children. Sandy was a very compassionate and caring person. She was also very environmentally conscious. Above all, she loved her family very much and will be greatly missed. Sandy is survived by her husband Tom of Eldridge; 2 sons – Greg (Heather) Mostrom of Cedar Rapids and Benjamin Mostrom of Davenport; step-son – Luke Riggs of Davenport; her mother – Mary Arends of Huxley, IA; 1 sister Lindy (Randy) Davis and; 1 brother – Bill (Harriet) Arends of Huxley, IA; Mother in-law – Esther “Pee-Wee” Riggs of Hampton, IL; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Preceding Sandy in death were her father, sister – Sue Arends and nephew David Robertson. Memorials made can be directed to the family.
