Richard William Brooks

Mr. Richard William Brooks, 64, died Saturday, November 16, 2019, at Oxford Health and Rehab in Oxford, MS.  No services are planned at this time. Born October 27, 1955, to the late Azeal Cranford Brooks and Carlin Thomas Brooks, Sr., Richard was a graduate of Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson, TN.  He was a retired computer programmer at the University of Mississippi and had also worked as a cashier at the Chevron gas station near the University.  While working at the gas station he enjoyed getting to know many University students.  He was a great fan of the University of Tennessee football program and also enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals. Richard is survived by his sister, Cathy Abel and her husband, Joey, of Memphis, TN; his brother, Carlin T. Brooks, Jr. and his wife, Teresa, of Abilene, TX and several nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions in Mr. Brooks’ memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 2451 Crystal Drive, Suite 900, Arlington, VA 22202.
