MONTEZUMA — Funeral services for Kate Dent Woodard, 90, will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2019 in the chapel of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home. Burial will be at Sunnyside Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m., Monday, Nov. 18, 2019. Mrs. Woodard was born in Ideal, Ga. to Mack Dent and Agnes Hatchett Dent and died Saturday night, Nov. 16, 2019 at Montezuma Health and Rehab. She is the widow of Sonnie Woodard and is preceded in death by the father of her children, Clifford Hines. She is also preceded in death by four sons: Pete Hines, Paul Hines, Mack Hines and Jack Hines; and seven siblings: Audrey Taunton, John Dent, Tot Sewell, Jack Dent, Mack Dent, George Dent and Mary Wright. She was a member of the Ideal Baptist Church and a former member of the Cordele Women’s Club. She was a registered activities director for Cordele Royal Care for 30 years where the residents were like family to her. She loved her family and especially all of her grandchildren. She is survived by her children: Marion Morrell of Oglethorpe, Ga. and Sam (Cheryl) Hines of Vienna, Ga.; her sister: Joyce Moore of Vienna; her daughter-in-law: Marilyn Hines of Ideal; her nine grandchildren, her 28 great-grandchildren and her 14 great-great-grandchildren.
