Pyrc, John A. – of Montrose, age 87, died Thursday, November 14, 2019, at his residence. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in memory of John at 11:00 AM, Thursday, November 21, 2019, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Montrose. Rev. Fathers Matthew Pyrc and Joseph Krupp officiating. Burial to follow in Montrose Township Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive visitors at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose on Wednesday from 1-8 PM and at the church on Thursday from 10AM until the time of mass at 11AM. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. John was born April 27, 1932, in Flint, Michigan, to the late John and Helen (Complac) Pyrc. He graduated from All Saints High School in Flint in 1952 and married Patricia Ann Fournier on August 1, 1953. She preceded him in death on March 29, 1989. John was a Korean War, U.S. Army veteran. He retired after several years as a Farmers Insurance agent. He was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Montrose. John was an avid Detroit Tigers and Lions fan. He enjoyed the harmonica, bonfires, wine making and spending time with his family. Surviving are: 8 children: Mark (Sally) Pyrc of Texas, Brenda (Ron) Woodward of Montrose, John (Kathy) Pyrc of Colorado, Andrew Pyrc of Colorado, Anne (Lenn) Stankiewicz of Montrose, Fr. Matthew Pyrc of California, Theresa (Nick) Vandercaar of Flint, and Mike (Monica) Pyrc of Montrose; 20 grandchildren: Marc, B.J., Bryan, Jim, Justin, Jeremy, Jonny, Amelia, Drew, Leann, Tricia, Joshua, Caleb, Rebekah, Marie Therese, David, Monique, Kayla, Conner, and Maddie; 10 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters: Jenny, Stella, and Lottie; Sister-in-law, Dorothy; John was also preceded in death by 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
