Douglas Joseph Albert Richard was born on February 20, 1942 in Pine Ridge, SD to Thomas S. Richard and Laevinia Sarah (Hopkins) Richard. Douglas made his journey to the Spirit World on November 8, 2019 at his home in Pine Ridge, SD. Douglas is survived by his daughter, Dana Richard-Weston of Porcupine, SD; siblings, Marvin P. (Jacky) Richard, Sr. of Pine Ridge, SD, Dale N. (Alberta) Richard of Pine Ridge, SD, James A. (Kathy) Richard, Sr. of Pine Ridge, SD, Wilma “Sally” (Delmar) Richard of Potato Creek, SD, and Bonnie (Robert, Sr.) Red Shirt of Pine Ridge, SD; grandchildren, Ernest Weston, Jr., Samantha, Richard, Marissa, Taylor and Lucas Weston; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and cousins. Douglas was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Laevinia Sarah (Hopkins) Richard; brothers, Raymond, Marlin, Ronald and Byron Richard; and sisters, Ruth Donna, Kadell, Sandra Ann and Amanda Carma Richard. Pallbearers will be: Sage Richard, Ernest Weston, Jr., Lonnie Richard, Thad Richard, Alfred Red Shirt, James “Baby Jim” Richard, Jr., Tom Red Hawk, Steve Richard, Marvin Richard, Jr. and Richard Red Hawk.
