Kenneth Gene Denzine Obituary

Kenneth Gene Denzine, age 70, of Phillips, WI passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital after a hard fought battle with complications from diabetes. Ken was born on April 4, 1949 in Phillips, WI, the son of Galen and Pearl (Giles) Denzine. He was a 1968 graduate of Phillips High School and a veteran of the US Army. On June 26, 1971, after dating all through high school, Ken married the love of his life and farming partner, Sally Pisca at St. Mary’s Church in Phillips. Ken and Sally farmed together for over 38 years. When Sally and Ken were first married they farmed for 4 years in Kennan, WI, and for the next 34 years they farmed on the family farm, known as Denzine Dairy. Ken believed that farming, despite hardships and disappointments, was the most honest and honorable way a man could spend his days on earth. In retirement, Ken enjoyed walleye fishing, especially in Ontario, Canada. Ken and Sally enjoyed their trike motorcycle riding years and their warm weather vacations. Ken is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sally; his sons Todd and Greg (Karen) Denzine of Phillips; his four grandchildren, Tanner, Abbigal, Alexis and Wyatt, who were his pride and joy. He is also survived by his brothers, David (Susan) of Alaska and Tim (Carla) of Phillips, and his sisters, Connie (Jerry) Heim and Shirley (Mike) Bungert, both of Wausau, and his sister-in-laws, Joan Denzine, Carol (Bob) Trampf, Shirley Lund (Bruce Miller) and Marc (Rob) Jamo, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Ken will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 13, at Saint Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church in Phillips with Father Madanu Lourdu Raju celebrating the Funeral Mass. Military honors will be conducted by the Lane Kreiling American Legion Post No. 122 and the Frank and Michael Baran VFW Post No. 5778. Visitation at the Church will be held on Tuesday, November 12, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM, and again from 9:30 AM until the time of the Mass on Wednesday. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Phillips. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, his father and mother-in law, Pete and Elsie Pisca, his brother, Jim Denzine, his brother-in-law, Russ Lund, and his sister-in-law, Pat Blaker.
