Margaret Dunn St. Catharines, Ontario Obituary

Margaret Dunn

DUNN, Margaret (nee Shaw) We are saddened to announce the passing of Margaret, who died peacefully Sunday, November 10, 2019 at the age of 91 after a long and wonderful life. Beloved wife of the late Brian (2010). Cherished mother of Marie (Dave) Bowman. Grandmother to Christopher, Michael and Pamela. Dear sister-in-law of John McWhirter. Loving aunt to many nieces and nephews in Canada and Scotland. Predeceased by her four siblings John, Isaac, David and Sadie. Special thanks to Linda Herman for the wonderful friendship shared over the last number of years. Margaret was born in Scotland and immigrated to Canada with Brian in the early 60’s. She was a proud member of the Scottish Club and a longtime parishioner of St. Alfred’s Church. Her love of chocolate and line dancing was matched only by her distaste of vegetables, and she never missed an episode of Coronation Street. Family and friends will be received at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Wednesday, November 13 from 6-8 p.m. Vigil prayers will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday at 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Alfred Roman Catholic Church, 272 Vine St., St. Catharines on Thursday, November 14 at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow the service. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society (St. Alfred’s Church) or to the Alzheimer Society.
