Charles H. Myers Obituary

Charles H. Myers, 89, a life-long resident of Harrisburg, passed away November 8, 2019 at Geisinger Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.       Born October 10, 1930, in Harrisburg, he was a son of the late Charles H. and Irma A. (Shoemaker) Myers.  Charles honorably served as an Airman First Class in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.   A graduate of John Harris High School, he later attended Penn State University.  Charles started his career at Laurie & Green Architects, and retired from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Health, in 2007.  He was a friend to many and was actively involved in the Harrisburg Choral Society, Harrisburg Community Theatre, West Shore Players and the Little Theatre of Mechanicsburg.             He is survived by his daughters, Carol E. Myers, of Harrisburg, Cathleen A. Wetzel, of Hershey and Christine L. Myers, of Harrisburg, and sons, Michael P. Myers and his wife Lucy, of Safety Harbor, FL, Mark S. Myers and his husband Robert Wisotzkey, of Mt. Wolf, and Matthew C. Myers, of Harrisburg.  He is also survived by four grandchildren, Joshua Myers, Richard Schindler, Jessica Myers and Colin Wetzel; his great grandson, Owen Myers; and a brother, Richard L. Myers, of Harrisburg. His Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday November 13, 2019 at the Hetrick-Bitner Funeral Home, Inc., 3125 Walnut Street, Harrisburg.  Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.  Friends may call on Wednesday, from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M., prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer memorial contributions being made to the charity of your choice.
