Julia Szlaga Union, New Jersey Obituary

Julia Szlaga

Matriarch of five generations, Julia Szlaga, nee Prazmowski, has passed peacefully on Friday, November 8th. Born in New York City, Julia moved to Irvington when she married Casimir Szlaga in 1938. They worked together in the family butcher business for forty years before retiring to Belmar. Julia was an expert seamstress, sewing many of the family's clothes. She worked part time in the Montessori School, where she was fondly called "Miss Julie" by the children. She was the center of most family events. Her children, Barbara Sluboski and Mark Szlaga gave her four grandchildren; Robin, Dawn, Michael and Stacy. They were followed by five great grandchildren; Rosie, Alan, Ashley, Megan and Saxon. Then along came Rosie's daughters, Juliana and Sienna, her great great granddaughters. Everybody in the family has been gifted with the hand decorated Christmas ornaments that she worked on each summer. She will be greatly missed but she will now be peacefully back at the side of her beloved husband, Casimir.
