Shirley T. Gibson, 82, of Chesapeake, passed away Sunday, November 3, 2019. Born in Southampton, NY, and raised in New London, CT she was the daughter of the late Heinrich and Martha Zimmerman. She was also predeceased by her husband, John F. Gibson. Shirley loved the outdoors, brisk walks, and will be remembered as a talented artist, who enjoyed drawing and painting. Most of all, she was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother (Nana), who was deeply proud of her family. Survivors include her sister, Margaret Serluca; children, Deborah Nielsen, Thomas Nielsen (Alexis), Kari Wieman (Steve); grandchildren, Nicholas, Alec, Jack, Yelena and Anastasia; feline companions, Muffin and Mitzie. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. There will be no viewing or visitation.
