Homer Patterson

Homer Patterson Jr. 75, retired U.S. Army Veteran and also retired from the Department of Corrections, went home to be with the Lord on April 16, 2016. Homer was born May 9, 1940 in Opelika, Alabama to the union of Homer and Rosie Mae (Mitchell) Patterson. His parents preceded him in death. Homer was united in Holy Matrimony with Mary A. (Dolsey) Patterson on December 10, 1966 in Ft. Meyers, Virginia. Homer served in the United States Army for twenty-one years attaining the rank of Sergeant Specialist. He served during the Korean and Vietnam conflicts and was awarded the National Defense Medal, Good Conduct Medal, 1st thru 3rd award and many more. Homer enjoyed playing pool, working on cars and going fishing for relaxation. He leaves to cherish his memory wife of 49 years Mrs. Mary Patterson, daughters Tracei Champion and Stephanie Patterson-Gray, five grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00pm – 5:00pm Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Angelus Chapel Funeral Directors 1104 S. Circle Drive Colorado Springs, CO 80910. Graveside Services will be held at 10:30am Friday, April 22, 2016 at Memorial Garden Cemetery 3825 Airport Road Colorado Springs, CO 80910.
