Margaret E. Sarensen, 81, of Royalton, passed away at 3:56 a.m. Monday, November 4, 2019, at Herrin Hospital in Herrin. Margaret was born on April 7, 1938, in Murphysboro, Illinois, to Claude Dunham and Margaret (Lee) Dunham. She was a homemaker and took care of her husband. She loved going to auctions and she liked to crochet. Margaret married James Sarensen on September 28, 1957, in Jackson County, Illinois, and he preceded her in death on May 8, 1994. She is survived by two children and their spouses, Lisa and Greg Rowe of Mattoon and James and Melody Sarensen of Royalton; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and one sister Shirley Easterly of Mattoon. She was preceded in death by one granddaughter Amy Karnes, two brothers Fred and Claude Dunham, and her parents. Gravesite services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 6, 2019, at Pleasant Grove Memorial Park with Rev. Chester Wisely officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.
