KELLER, STEPHEN FRANCIS Stephen Francis Keller (Dad, Boppa, Biggie, Steve) passed away peacefully on September 13, 2019, at age 81, after a long struggle with Parkinson’s Disease. He was the younger son of Alice Duffy Keller and Reginald Francis Keller. Steve graduated from Loyola High School in 1955, UC Berkeley (Psi Upsilon) in 1959, and Boalt Hall School of Law (Phi Delta Phi) in 1962. At Cal, he met his beloved wife, Sally, to whom he was married for 55 years. He is survived by Sally and their three children, Sarah (Chuck) Cox, Stephen (Berry) Keller and Richard (Jennifer) Keller, nine grandchildren, and his brother, Hon. William D. Keller, U. S. District Court Judge. Steve was an attorney at Lillick, McHose & Charles for 25 years and Managing Partner, 1976-83. He was a former member of the Chancery Club and the American College of Trust & Estate Counsel. He was Chairman of The Santa Anita Companies from 1991-96, a Trustee of Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company (1984-2009), and was appointed by President George H.W. Bush as a Trustee of the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corp. (1992-1995). He was a Board member of Mizuho Bank of California (1974-2011), Microdata, The Dutra Group, and Clayton Industries (1979-2019). In 1996 he retired to his home office, affectionately referred to as World Headquarters. Steve loved his Loyola Cubs and his California Golden Bears. He was Chairman of the U.C. Berkeley Foundation (1993-1995), a Berkeley Fellow, and a Builder of Berkeley. He served on the Boards of the California Club, Beach Club and Eldorado Country Club, and was President of the Los Angeles Country Club (1998-2000). He was a seven-time Dominoes Champion at the California Club, including an extra-special victory in 2018. Above all, Steve loved his family and we loved him! Memorial services will be held at St. Brendan’s Church (310 So. Van Ness Avenue, Los Angeles) on Tuesday, September 24, at 11 am. His family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Loyola High School (1901 Venice Blvd., Los Angeles, CA. 90006) or to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research (P.O. Box 5014, Hagerstown, MD. 21741-5014).
