Robert A. Wallin, age 85 of Stillwater and formerly of Duluth and Asheville, NC, died on Saturday, April 16, 2016. Visitation will be at Lake of the Isles Lutheran Church, Minneapolis on Thursday, April 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Valley Grove Church, Nerstrand, MN on Friday, April 22, 2016 at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to service. Robert Alger, the son of Roy and Mae (Plackner) Wallin was born November 28, 1930 in Benson. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Robert married Gladys L. Hope on June 9, 1955 in Faribault and she preceded him in death on July 21, 2004. He was previously employed as a high school teacher in Wadena and Duluth and as a housing inspector for the City of Duluth. He is survived by two children, Janna (and Pastor Arden) Haug of Minneapolis and Kurt (and Tammy) Wallin of Auburn, WA; five grandchildren, Vitali (and Gina) Haug, Alexei Haug, Brennan, Deneille and Cierra Wallin; great grandson Ivan Haug; and a sister, Donna Anderson of Willmar. Memorial gifts may be directed to Project Life of Stillwater.
