Christine Marie Bowman

Christine Marie Bowman, age 94, of Duncanville, Texas passed away, Monday, October 28, 2019 in Dallas, Texas. She was born in Millwood, Collin County, Texas on October 14, 1925 on her maternal grandparents homestead and was raised in Dallas. She lived most of her life in Dallas County with the exception of joining her husband in Apalachicola and Boca Raton, Florida where he was stationed in 1943 with the U.S. Army Air Corps. Her parents were the late Clarence Virgil and Birtie (Watkins) Dove. She married George Bowman on March 13, 1943, totally devoted to one another for 69 years until his death on October 30, 2012. Together with their two daughters, they lived in Dallas, Farmers Branch and Wylie until moving to Duncanville in 1962. A loving mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and homemaker, Christine's favorite times were with her family. She and her husband were members of the Order of Eastern Star # 1014, she for 52 years and held the offices of Marshal, Warder, and Treasurer for many of those years. She was also a member of the Shalman Temple # 90 Daughters of the Nile. She is survived by daughter, Doris Ann Miller; daughter, Kay Lefler and husband David; brother Nathan Dove and wife Louise; granddaughter Christie O'Dell; grandson, David Miller; great grandsons, Brent, Timothy and Ethan Selby; nieces Kimberly (Dove) Myers; Teresa (Dove) Raney and husband Brian. Visitation will be held at Jayne's Memorial Chapel, 811 South Cockrell Hill Road, Duncanville, Texas on Friday, November 1st, 1-2 pm with graveside service at 2:30 at Little Bethel Memorial Park, 1803 Cedar Hill Road, Duncanville.
