Carrie Hays was born January 15, 1944 in Bald Knob, Arkansas and departed this life Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, surrounded by her family. She was 75 years of age. She was the daughter of the late Robert & Florene (Decker) Cockrum. Carrie is survived by her husband, Calvin Hays of McKee; three children, Joshua (Jessicah) Hays of Gray Hawk, Lisa Patterson of Bald Knob, Arkansas and Kristen Bezek of Houston, TX; step daughters, Erin Milburn and Cala Coleman of Harrodsburg, Jena Hays of Lexington, and Shani Hays of McKee. She is also survived by a brother, Alfred Cockrum of Crossville, TN and by four sisters, Christine Davis of Memphis, TN, Maxine McGee of Little Rock, Arkansas, Yvonne King of Wilburn, Arkansas and Olivia Huntsman of Batesville, Arkansas. She was blessed with 20 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Carrie was also preceded in death by three siblings, Lovitta Spencer, Jesse Cockrum and Wayne Cockrum. Carrie was a member of the McKee Reformed Church. Funeral service 2:00 PM Sunday, October 27, 2019 at Lakes Funeral Home with Bro. Calvin Hays officiating. Burial to follow in the Hays Family Cemetery.
