Florine Smith

SMITH, Florine Michaels, 91 of Land O’ Lakes, FL passed away on Monday, March 28, 2016. Florine was originally from Niagara Falls, N.Y. where she graduated from Niagara Falls High School and Kelley Business School. She worked for many years as a secretary at Bell Aircraft and Carborundum Company and as an accountant at Simon Oil Company. She volunteered for several years as a religious education teacher at Prince of Peace Catholic Church and Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church. Active in many organizations at both churches, she was a lay Carmellite and also belonged to the Corsillo Movement. Florine is predeceased by her parents, Frank and Nancy Giancarli; her first husband and father of her seven children, Stanley Michaels; her most recent husband, Reginald Smith; her brothers, Mario and Robert Giancarli; her sisters, Livia Wilson and Mary Stempien; her nieces, Shirlee Carda and Carolyn Lonberger, and her stepson, Paul Smith. She is survived by her children, Robert (Karen) Michaels; Donna Page, Patricia (Gerald) Bannach, Joanne (William) Reece, Barbara (Marcus) Crage, AnneMarie (James) Watts and John (Sandy) Michaels; stepchildren, Robert (Sandy) Smith, Debra (Ed) Hornburg, Pam (George) Stewart; stepdaughter-in-law, Kay Smith; 20 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and her sister, Olga Masella. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 1st at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, 2348 Collier Parkway, Land O’ Lakes, FL 34639. Her final resting place will be at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Lewiston, New York. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March, 31st at Loyless Funeral Home.
