Thomas McGlawn Fondren Jr. 81, of Marion, passed away October 19, 2019, at Brookwood Medical Center. Services will be held Wednesday October 23, 2019, at 11 a.m. from Sardis Church with Tyler Clements and Nate Bright officiating and Kirk Funeral Homes Marion Chapel directing. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday October 22, 2019, at Kirk Funeral Homes Marion Chapel from 6 to 8 p.m. He was born July 16, 1938, in Hale County, to Monroe and Claudine Owens Fondren. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; 1st wife, Mildred Fondren. Surviving Thomas are his wife, Adele Fondren; daughters, Renee Smith (Denny), Teresa Averette (Eddie), Patricia Luker (Stevie), Barbara Mitchell (Frank), Mary Ellen Clements (Randall), and Michelle Harless (Lance); sons, Marcus Fondren; grandchildren, Stephanie Brown, Tyler Clements, Casey Crocker, Kayla Cottingham, Kelsey Averette, Kristy Wallace, Kathy Hughey, Kimberly Millner, Grant Harless, Raegan Harless, Kennedy Harless, Jessica Hallman, and Frank Mitchell; great grandchildren, Ansleigh Hallman, Carter Hallman, Kaitlin Mitchell, Conner Mitchell, Jamisom Cottingham, Selah Grace Clements, Laine Caffee, Natalie Wallace, Morgan Wallace, Jessica Hughey, and Jacob Hughey. Pallbearers will be William Hill, Frank Mitchell, Glenn Fondren, Freddie Massengale, Steve Calhoun, Joe Aultman, Curt Hill, and Daryl Fondren.
