Nicholas A. "Nick" DiStasio, age 89, U.S. Army Korean War veteran, a resident of Naperville, IL since 1994, formerly of Chicago, IL, passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at his home. He was born November 2, 1929 in Chicago. Beloved husband of the late Livia DiStasio (nee DiCarlo) , whom he married November 14, 1959 and who preceded him in death on October 10, 2011, loving father of Rose Ann (Jim) Callahan, the late Denise DiStasio and Lisa (John) Wozniak, adored grandfather of Nick, Anthony, Steven, Joseph and Olivia, devoted son of the late Joseph and Antoinette (nee Renna) DiStasio, dear brother of the late Florence (the late Lawrence), Steve (the late Lucille), Charlie (Lena), Dean (Mary), Rosemary (the late Sam), Angie (the late Tony), Dominic and Joey, fond brother-in-law, cousin, uncle, great-uncle and friend of many. Nick grew up in Chicago's Chinatown neighborhood, was a member of Santa Maria Incoronata Catholic Church and was a 1947 graduate of Tilden High School. Nick served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and later lived on Chicago's Southwest side for many years before moving to Naperville. He was a former member of St. Symphorosa Catholic Church, Chicago and a current member of Annunciation B.V.M. Catholic Church in Aurora. Visitation Saturday, October 19, 2019, 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill Street, Naperville. Services will begin Saturday, 12:00 PM from the funeral home and will proceed to a 1:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial at Annunciation B.V.M. Catholic Church, 1820 Church Rd, Aurora, IL. Interment: Marywood Cemetery, Aurora. In lieu of flowers, donations in Nick's memory can be made to: Naperville Responds for Our Veterans, 210 S.
