Dorothy Marie Tidwell

Dorothy Marie Tidwell of Stamford passed away Thursday, October 10, 2019 at an Anson hospital. Graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 12 at Willow Cemetery in Haskell, Texas with Dr. Robert Wingrove officiating under the direction of Kinney-Underwood Funeral Home. Dorothy “Dot” was born August 27, 1935 in Lueders, Texas to Joe and Marie (Shelley) Davis. She was a resident of Stamford and Jones County all her life. She married James Donald “J.D.” Tidwell November of 1952. She was a member of Trinity Church. Dot was a Stamford High School graduate and in her younger days she enjoyed playing softball. She also enjoyed bowling and going to the casino. Dot loved to work in her yard but her real passion was for her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son Donald Ray Tidwell and a grand-daughter Erin Joan Ramsey. Those left to cherish Dot’s memory are her brother James Davis of Stamford; Daughter-in-Law Pam and Cliff Reed of New Braunfels, Texas; Sister-in-Law Aleene Brown of California; Granddaughters Amanda and Billy Santana of New Braunfels and Baylee and Stephen Mobley of Hillsboro, Oregon; Grandson William Collen McBride of Austin, Texas; and several Great-Grand Children Hayden, Albre, Grayson, Amelia, Teagen, Lawson, Madison, Mia, Maysen, Reed, Barron and Elam.
