Funeral Services for Victor Simpson will be held at Sterling High School Auditorium at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 12, 2019. The viewing will be from 1:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 11, 2019 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Sterling Cemetery at the direction of the Fletcher Funeral Home. Victor Wayne Simpson, 72, passed away in his home on Thursday, October 10, 2019. Vic was born in Sterling, OK, to Roy Lee and Beulah (Lewis) Simpson on June 18, 1947. He was a 1966 graduate of Sterling High School and began studies at Cameron University shortly after graduation. He married Janice Elaine Huitt on April 30, 1966. Vic was a member of the Sterling United Methodist Church. After marriage he was employed in Denver, Co. for a short time. The family moved briefly to Ardmore, Ok, before continuing his life work as an auto mechanic co-owning Simpson's Garage with his brother until 1994. Vic had many friends. He enjoyed camping, was an avid fisherman, loved hunting, was a square dancer for many years, and thoroughly enjoyed watching his grandkids participate in school functions and sports. Vic is survived by Janice (Huitt) Simpson of the home. Daughter Jan Simpson and friend Jack Hunter, Elgin, son Chad and wife Jil Simpson of Marlow. Grandkids Jami Szatkowski, Ciara and Daniel Cox, Kyahna Simpson, Matthew Martinez, Tori Simpson, Keenan Simpson, and Kash Ison. Brother-in-law Hunter Nunley, Jr., Brother Roy V and wife Barbara K Simpson, and sister Barbara and husband Roy Lott. Vic also had many adored nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Roy Lee and mother Beulah Simpson, sister Twila Nunley, brother Keith Simpson, and son Scott A Simpson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Scott Simpson Scholarship Fund at First National Bank of Fletcher.
