Karen L'Abbe
Karen L’Abbe, age 72, formerly of Tomahawk, passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at the Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield. Karen was born on July 1, 1947 in Rhinelander to John & Julia “Judy” (Shimkus) L’Abbe. She was a graduate of Tomahawk High School. After high school she attended Cardinal Stritch University where she earned her degree in Business Administration. For many years, Karen was a legal secretary in Milwaukee. She moved to Wausau later in life and was employed at Wausau Insurance. Karen is survived by her sisters – Kerry Gaedtke & Julie Thayer, both of Tomahawk; and her brother – Jack L’Abbe of Colorado. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews – Heather Dirkx, Heidi Gaedtke, Brian Walker & Chad Gaedtke; and further survived by many great nieces and great nephews. Karen is preceded in death by her parents, niece – Gina Gruhlke and brothers in law – Hal Gaedtke & Jack Thayer. The Memorial Service for Karen L’Abbe will take place at 1:00PM on Saturday, October 12 at the Krueger Family Funeral Home. Visitation will take place on Saturday from 11:00AM until the time of service at 1:00PM. Krueger Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services is assisting the family with arrangements.
