Zelma Louise Gowin Obituary

Zelma Louise Gowin, age 86, of Leon, Iowa, the daughter of Lallford and Glaydis (Treslor) Reifsteck, was born September 8, 1929, at Grand Pass, Missouri. She died on Sunday, February 7, 2016, at Westview Acres in Leon, Iowa. At a young age Zelma married Ray Gowin. They made their home in Garden Grove, Iowa and had six children, Larry, Connie, Carl, Billy Joe, Teresa, and Linda. Later, Zelma moved to Des Moines, Iowa. She worked as a nurses' aide in various nursing homes in the area. In her free time, Zelma enjoyed doing puzzle books and reading. She also enjoyed her time with her grandchildren. She lived the last three years of her life at Westview Acres in Leon. Preceding her in death were her parents and sisters, Junior Merl, Edith Lane, and Betty Black. Survivors include her children; her grandchildren, Billyjoe Curtis Gowin of Maxwell, Iowa, Jessie James Gowin and companion Christine Deason of Leon, Iowa, and Elvis Presley Gowin of Woodward, Iowa; great grandchildren, Brianna, Crystal, and Alexandria Deason, all of Leon; brother, George Reifstek of Kansas City, Missouri; sister, Grace Agee of Malta Bend, Missouri; and other relatives and friends. ��No memorial services are planned at this time.��
