Jeanetta J. Lofton Obituary

Jeanetta June Harris, known to everyone as Jeanie, was born May 19, 1941. Jeanetta was the beloved second child of the late Juanita Johnson-Harris and James Julius Harris. Jeanie loved her siblings her two sisters Jamesetta (who proceeded her in death) Inetta (Edwards) and her brother James who also proceeded her in death. Jeanie loved animals and was known for rescuing strays. She loved music and often her home was filled with the sounds of operas and classical music. Jeanie loved children which inspired her to become a pediatric nurse, she loved nursing but when she met and married William "Billy" Lofton and to that union four daughters were born: Shakundala Monet (Narayan), Kurnain Letitia (Shelwood), Naya Candice (Pasquier) and Romunda Keisha (Morton) motherhood became her new passion. Jeanie was a devoted mother. Jeanie was strong and independent and raised her four daughters to be the same. Later years Jeanie became a school crossing guard and was known for her dancing in the intersections so much that she was photographed for the local paper. Family and friends were Jeanie's passion and delight. Jeanie was an incredible person and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Jeanie leaves to cherish her memory her four daughters, Shakundala (Narayan), Kurnain (Shelwood), Naya (Pasquier) and Romunda (Morton), her sister Inetta (Edwards), Her six grandchildren Kali McDonald, Romaune Pritchett, Fabrice Pasquier, Anissia Pasquier, Karina Shelwood and Kyla Jean Narayan, Her nephews Vincent Edwards and David Edwards, her niece Iva Neal as well as a host of family and life long friends. Service: Memorial Service Monday, December 21, 2015 6:00 - 8:00 pm Zimmerman-Harnett Funeral Home 7319 W.
