Charles Cannon

Charles Leroy Cannon, 83-year-old resident of Doniphan, MO, departed this life Friday, September 13, 2019 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff. Charles was born to the late Robert & Gertie (Smith) Cannon on February 28, 1936 in Grandin. Mr. Cannon was an auto mechanic. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on cars, woodworking, and helping others. Charles enjoyed attending West Doniphan Missionary Baptist Church with his wife. On June 16, 1956, Charles married Phillis Rose Roundtree in Oxly, MO. She survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Judy (Ronnie) Walk of McGee, MO; three sons, Leroy (Paula Smith) Cannon, Chuck (Shannon) Cannon and Steve (Kim) Cannon all of Doniphan; one sister Phyllis Backs of Carlisle, IL; grandchildren Chad Cannon, Misty(Michael) Ramsey, Nathan(Jannette) Walk, Travis(Cassie) Cannon and Luke Cannon; and his great-grandchildren, Caden Cannon, Abby Cannon, Cannon Ramsey, Kinley Ramsey, Presley Walk, Ella Walk, Weston Cannon. Mr. Cannon was preceded in death by sisters, Dora Hulvey, Maxine Turner, Rosie Carter, Mary Ford, Imogene Keating; and brothers, Robert Cannon, Cecil Cannon, and Elmer Cannon. Visitation will be Sunday, September 15, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 1 pm with Bro. David Grubbs officiating. Burial will be in Doniphan City Cemetery.
