Robert Richard Griggs

Robert (Bob) Richard Griggs Of Eaton Rapids, MI passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at the age of 77. Bob was born on June 20, 1942 in Jackson, MI the son of Richard and Dorothy (Hart) Griggs. He attended Eaton Rapids Schools before being drafted into the United States Army and serving during the Vietnam War. He worked for Burkholders and Dick Tottingham gas station in Eaton Rapids, Candy Ford in Eaton Rapids and then Charlotte, and eventually for Campus Ford in Okemos. Bob retired from the automotive industry and went to work for the Clean Team U.S.A. where he did sanitation and floor cleaning for Family Fare. He currently worked part-time for Rapids Tool and Engineering. Bob loved to travel and especially enjoyed spending time in Cape Cod and wintering in Florida the past 4 years. He made many trips with his wife Nancy up and down both coasts of the United States. Bob was a very social and outgoing person who loved taking his 1964 ½ Ford Mustang Fastback to the Onondaga Dragway. He was above all a loving husband and father who was always there to lend a helping hand. He is survived by his wife, Nancy (Carr) Griggs; children, Lee Ann (Jack Mesler) Griggs, Jason Griggs, Kim, Bronson; sister, Sherry (Denny) Avery; brother, John (Suzy) Griggs; numerous nieces, nephews and special grand-dog, Rebel. He will be missed by his family and friends, especially best friend Ron Goodnoe. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, September 20, 2019 at Rosehill Cemetery in Eaton Rapids. The family with host a luncheon immediately following the graveside service at Skinner Funeral Home, Eaton Rapids Chapel.
