Larry Gene King, 73 year old Pryor resident, passed away September 13, 2019 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Larry was born March 12, 1946 in Danby, Vermont to Frederick and Lillian (Ploof) King. Larry spent 26 years serving his country, his first four years in the Navy and the last twenty two years in the Coast Guard. After retiring from the military, he worked over eighteen years for H.E. & M Saw Company here in Pryor. Larry loved to fish and loved to do wood work and build beautiful wood furniture. He also loved to cook and was taught to crochet by his late wife, Bobbie. Larry is preceded in death by his parents, wife: Bobbie Jean (Garland) King, one grandson: James Bristol, three brothers, & one sister. Larry is survived by one daughter: Dawn Clark and husband Don of Rose, Oklahoma, two grandchildren: Laura Pritchett and husband James of Westville, Oklahoma & Jordan Hill and Austin Hill of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, four great grandchildren: James Pritchett, Jacob Pritchett, Ivy Hill, and Savanna Bristol, & four brothers & five sisters, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The Celebration of Life Graveside Services for Larry will be held 1pm – Thursday September 19, 2019 at Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma with Pastor Clayton Moore officiating. The family will meet and greet friends from 6pm – 8pm Wednesday September 18, 2019. The family has entrusted the arrangements to Stephens-Key Funeral & Cremation Care of Pryor.
