Walter F. Orr

Orr, Walter Howell, MI His Legacy…Walter Frank Orr, age 95, passed away, September 12, 2019. Walter was born April 25, 1924 in South Fulton, TN to Leonard B. and Myrtle E. (Brashears) Orr. He married the love of his life, Violet Mae McClain on November 3, 1943 in Mayfield, KY and they spent 73 wonderful years together. Walter proudly served in the US Army during WWII, earning a Bronze Star and the European Campaign Medal. He worked for Hazel Park Schools as a Boiler Engineer and Custodian. In his free time, he enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his family. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. His Family…Walter is survived by his son, Dan (Judith) Orr; grandchildren, Heather (Brian) Peterson, and Aaron (Wendy) Orr and great grandchildren, Courtney and Morgan Peterson and Elliott and Audie Orr. He is preceded in death by his wife Violet, his parents, and four sisters. His Farewell…Walter’s family and friends will gather on Friday, September 20, 2019 from 10:00AM until the time of his Community Farewell at 11:00AM at Liberty Baptist Church, 599 Chilson Rd., Howell, MI.
