Sharon Delorus “Penny” Hendrix Fox, age 67, of Newton passed away Friday, January 8, 2016 at Catawba Regional Hospice in Newton. Born February 9, 1948 in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Mary Hendrix Martin. Penny was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Hickory. She is survived by: Husband of 44 years: Mickey Bryan Fox of the home Sister: Ava Martin of Hickory 2 Brothers: Michael L. Martin of Conover and Herbert H. Martin of Hickory The funeral service will be held on Monday, January 11, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Newton with Rev.’s Derek Cline and Eric Lane officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service Monday from 1:00- 1:45 p.m. at the church. Memorials may be made to: Catawba County Humane Society, 3224 20th Ave SE, Hickory, NC 28602 or VA Administration of Hickory, 2440 Century PL SE, Hickory, NC 28602.
