Gertrude M. (Göbel) Fink, 90, of Hot Springs, passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2014. She was born on June 9, 1924, in Hanau, a/m Germany, and was the daughter of the late Karl H. and Gertrude T. (Peter) Göbel. Gerda was a woman of great strength and character. Known by many for her hard work. She loved and mentored many friends over the years and deeply cared for their well being. She was a member of the Edelweiss Club of Hot Springs and enjoyed weekly bowling. She was known to be a great cook who enjoyed entertaining; traveling; family; and immensely enjoyed playing the game of Farkel. Her passion was cross-stitching and needlepoint, and she will be remembered for all the beautiful pictures and greeting cards she leaves for others to enjoy. Gerda was predeceased by her beloved husbands, Joseph, Kenneth and David, all of whom she nourished through their fight with cancer; and by her son Bernard P. Herrmann who passed away on October 31, 1996. She is also predeceased by her brother Karl Göbel (Elfriede) and sister Anna Weaver (William). Gerda is survived by one brother, Theodore Göbel (Marianne) of Bruchkoebel, Germany; by numerous nieces and nephews; cousins; and other relatives and friends. A special thank you to Arkansas Hospice for their care and support. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home on Section Line Road in Hot Springs. Interment will be at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Arkansas Hospice.
