Linda (Finet) Brandt Obituary

Red Lion—Linda (Finet) Brandt, 66, died Saturday, December 12, 2015, at her residence in Windsor Township. She was the wife of Dennis W. Brandt to whom she was married for over 45 years. Funeral Services are scheduled for 11 AM, Saturday, December 19, 2015, at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion. Her pastor, Fr. John A. McCloskey, OFM Cap, will officiate the service. A visitation will be held 10-11 AM, Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Red Lion Cemetery. Born December 28, 1948, in Hastings, Cambria County, she was a daughter of Elizabeth M. (Cronauer) Finet and the late George F. Finet, both of Hastings. A 1966 graduate of Bishop Carroll High School, she also graduated from Mt. Aloysius Jr. College. She later earned her degree in Home Economics from Mansfield University and received her teaching certification and Masters Degree from Penn State-York. She was employed with Central School District for 21 years, last teaching at Stony Brook Elementary until her retirement in 2012. A member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Dallastown, she volunteered at Olivia’s House in York and loved gardening and making her home beautiful. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Brandt is survived by one son, Ryan P. Brandt of Red Lion; two grandchildren, Hunter V. and Sierra R. Brandt of San Diego, California; four brothers, Philip G. Finet of Venetia, Allegheny County, Bernard A. Finet of Hastings, John C. Finet of Hastings, and Richard W. Finet of Lowell, Florida; three sisters, Virginia M. Serafin of Indiana County, Rosemary E. Hazle of Rogersville, AL and Bernadette R. Keith of Indiana County, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son Devon C. Brandt. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 924 N. Colonial Ave, York, Pa 17403, or a charity of choice.
