Ruth A. Ginder

Ruth A. Ginder, 95, formerly of Elizabethtown and a resident of Brethren Village went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy. Born in Rapho Township, she was the daughter of the late Harrison R. and Minnie Schweager Gibble. She was the wife of the late Elam Z. Ginder who died in 1998. Ruth retired from Keagy's Produce and Roots Country Market, Manheim and in her earlier years, she helped her husband on the family farm in Rapho Township. She was the oldest member of Chiques Church of the Brethren, Manheim where she was a Sunday school teacher and helped with the kitchen committee and Women's Fellowship. Ruth was also a member of Mastersonville Fire Company and Brethren Village Auxiliary. She volunteered at Brethren Village. Her interests included bird watching, vegetable and flower gardening and she enjoyed baking and making candy. Ruth loved to spend time with her family and friends. Surviving is a daughter, Peggy L. wife of Randy L. Enck of Manheim, 8 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren, a daughter-in-law, Loraine Ginder and a son-in-law, Ronald Knier both of Elizabethtown. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert E. Ginder, daughter, Barbara A. Knier and a granddaughter, Lisa Knier. Ruth was the last of her immediate family. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service at Chiques Church of the Brethren, 4045 Sunnyside Road, Manheim on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at 11:00 AM. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Thursday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment in the adjoining church cemetery. Please omit flowers. She was a wonderful, kind women. I am very fortunate to have met her. I still have one of her bells on my Christmas tree. She made the best desserts which no one can match to this day. Prayers to her family to have peace and comfort.
